How to use an engine flush

An engine flush is added to the old oil just before an oil change and helps loosen carbon, sludge and varnish deposits inside the engine, so the fresh oil goes into a cleaner engine.

Step by step

  1. Check the label and the vehicle manual

Autocher Engine Flush is compatible with petrol and diesel engines. Still, check the oil and service information in your vehicle manual and make sure the oil level is normal.

  2. Bring the engine to operating temperature

Run the engine until it reaches operating temperature just before the oil change. The product disperses better in warm oil.

  3. Add the product to the old oil

Add the product to the old engine oil through the oil filler cap; check the label for the amount (the product comes in a 300 ml bottle).

  4. Idle the engine for 10–15 minutes

Do not drive the vehicle and do not rev the engine during this time.

  5. Drain the old oil and replace the filter

Switch the engine off, drain the old oil and replace the oil filter. Take the used oil to a waste-oil collection point.

  6. Fill with fresh oil and check the level

Fill with the oil grade recommended by the manufacturer, run the engine briefly and check the level on the dipstick.

Things to watch

  • An engine flush is used only right before an oil change; it is not left in the engine with fresh oil and is not used while driving.
  • Do not extend the idle time or raise the revs; follow the time and amount on the label.
  • If the engine has a serious oil leak, excessive oil consumption or signs of heavy sludge, it needs a workshop check.
  • Never dispose of used oil or filters in the environment.

This guide is general information; the directions on the product label always take priority for ratios and timings.
