What to prepare for a private label quote
In private label manufacturing, the quote starts with your brief. The clearer it is, the faster and more accurate the manufacturer's reply. This guide lists what to put in your first message.
What to put in your brief
- State the product group and products
Say which group you need (washing, care and detailing, aerosols, fuel-engine-oil additives, coolants, motorcycle care) and which products. If you want something that is not in the catalogue, describe it briefly; feasibility is assessed.
- Specify packaging type and size
Aerosol can, additive bottle, retail bottle or professional packaging each have different typical sizes. Aerosols are usually 200 and 400 ml and additive bottles 250-300 ml; 500 ml and other sizes are considered on request.
- Add approximate quantity and target market
Give the rough quantity per product and the country or channel you will sell in (e-commerce, retail chain, service network, export). Label text and shipping plans depend on the target market.
- Make your formula and label preferences clear
Will you use one of the ready formulas or bring your own? Mention any scent, colour or concentration customisation. Using a ready formula speeds the process up.
- Include sample and document needs
Say whether you want samples and which documents you need, such as SDS and TDS. The sample plan is agreed together after your brief.
Things to keep in mind
- Send the first message even if you do not have every detail; you can complete the rest together with the manufacturer.
- Keep your logo file ready in vector format (for example PDF or SVG); the label is produced from it.
- Quantity, price and lead time vary with the product, packaging and level of customisation, so firm figures are given at quote stage.
- If confidentiality of your brand matters, raise a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) with the manufacturer at the start.
This guide is general information; exact terms, prices and lead times are given with your quote.
Frequently asked questions
How many products should I list in my request?
You can start with a single product. If you send several, saying which one is the priority makes planning easier.
Are the catalogue products in stock?
No. The catalogue shows what can be produced as private label; products are made to order under your brand.
How do I request a quote?
Fill in the quote form on the private label page or send your brief on WhatsApp.
